Gen Z wants loyalty rewards baked into the booking flow
If your hotel's loyalty program still lives in a silo, Gen Z is already swiping past it. A fresh Agoda survey of Asian travelers shows that younger guests expect rewards to be fully baked into the booking experience, not a separate login, not a points statement that arrives by email three days later.
According to the report, this cohort wants a seamless loop: search, book, earn and redeem points all inside one screen. They're also taking shorter, more frequent trips and prioritizing cultural or food experiences over standard beach vacations. Sustainability labels and off-peak incentives help seal the deal.
To me, this is a wake-up call for every hotel tech stack. If your PMS or booking engine can't surface loyalty data and personalized offers in real time, you're invisible to a generation that expects Amazon-level frictionlessness. The opportunity? Integrate a loyalty layer into your direct channel and stop relying on OTAs to deliver your best customers.
