Bestprice BME Growth, Accor Hosting Change, WTM London and The Hospitality Show
The hotel tech conversation today is about money and measurement. Bestprice is putting its shares on the Spanish market to fund expansion, while Accor is turning sustainability into a performance metric rather than a communications line. Both moves point the same way: the operators that win the next cycle will be the ones that can prove value with numbers, not slogans.
Today's brief
Bestprice is taking the listing route to fund hotel growth, and that changes the maths for every Spanish tech vendor selling into mid-market chains. The company has started the paperwork to join BME Growth, with GVC Gaesco as registered adviser and liquidity provider, according to Hosteltur. The board approved the move after the shareholder meeting of 13 October 2026.
- Bestprice already trades on Euronext Paris and now wants Spanish investors closer to its operating base.
- The stated goal is wider access to financing for its hotel expansion in Spain.
- A listed chain has to report with more discipline, which usually means cleaner tech stacks and harder procurement questions.
My read: a mid-market chain with public capital is a better buyer for serious software. It has to justify spend to shareholders, so vendors with measurable ROI get a hearing and vendors with slideware do not.
Hotel technology
Accor's Hosting Change strategy is the clearest example this week of sustainability being sold internally as an operating cost story. Coline Pont explains the approach in Skift, and the framing matters: energy, asset value, guest experience and talent all get tied to the same measurement system.
For hotel tech buyers this is a procurement signal. If a group ties sustainability to performance, then the PMS, the energy management layer and the reporting tools have to speak the same language. Any vendor that cannot produce auditable numbers on consumption or operational efficiency will struggle in an RFP at a chain of that size.
Revenue and distribution
Capital access is becoming a distribution advantage. Bestprice's move to BME Growth is not a tech story on the surface, but it is a distribution story underneath. A chain with fresh public capital can afford to invest in direct booking, channel mix and revenue management at a scale that independent operators cannot match on their own.
That widening gap is exactly why independent hotels keep buying into shared tech. A central reservation system, a channel manager and a decent RMS are the tools that let a small property behave like a listed group's distribution department. The Bestprice filing is a reminder that the money is moving toward operators who can act on data fast.
Markets
The Spanish market is quietly building a deeper pool of hospitality capital. Bestprice is already listed in Paris and now adds a Spanish venue, which gives local investors a direct way into hotel operating economics. GVC Gaesco's role as liquidity provider is the practical detail that makes the listing usable for institutional money.
The effect on tech is indirect but real. More listed hospitality vehicles in Spain means more analysts asking about RevPAR, cost per occupied room and tech spend per key. Those questions eventually reach the vendor pitch.
What we are watching
- WTM London on 3 November, three days away. Expect a wave of distribution and direct booking announcements aimed at winter sourcing.
- The Hospitality Show in Miami Beach from 2 November, with US operators focused on PMS, automation and back of house.
- Bestprice's BME Growth timetable, and whether it triggers similar moves from other Spanish mid-market chains.
- Accor's Hosting Change metrics, and whether they show up as standard requirements in vendor tenders.
Yesterday we covered how NFC locks beat Bluetooth and key cards at hotels, per Assa Abloy. The thread continues: hardware decisions at property level are increasingly judged on measurable operational outcomes, the same logic Accor is applying to sustainability.
The opportunity here is straightforward. Operators with capital and operators with good data will find each other faster in the next twelve months, and the tech vendors that can prove results in euros and kilowatt hours will be the ones invited to the table. That is a healthier market than one decided on relationships alone.
