Quick Answer: FCS Solutions is a Singapore-headquartered hospitality technology company, founded in 1982, now used by more than 2,800 hotel properties across over 70 countries. Its platform, FCS1, unifies housekeeping, maintenance, incident management and guest services in one operational system built for complex hotels and resorts.
Start with the number that frames everything else. In January 2026, HOTREC published Skills and labour shortages in hospitality: a roadmap for action, and the headline finding was blunt. European hospitality is operating roughly 10% short of the workforce it needs.
The scale matters. HOTREC counts around 2 million hospitality businesses in Europe employing about 10 million people across the EU-27, up from 9 million in 2015. France alone reports between 120,000 and 150,000 unfilled positions. Ninety percent of those 2 million businesses are micro-enterprises with fewer than ten employees.
The picture is not much better elsewhere. FCS cites an American Hotel & Lodging Association survey showing 65% of U.S. hotels reported staffing shortages in 2025, with housekeeping the hardest role to fill.
That is the condition every hotel operations vendor is now selling into. The same team has to cover more rooms without the service falling apart, which puts the coordination between departments, not the individual tasks, at the centre.
FCS has been part of the evolution of hospitality technology for decades. It started inside hotel operations, has kept listening to how hotels actually run, and has evolved its platform as technology and guest expectations changed. That continuity, rather than a sudden change of direction, is the through-line.
Today the numbers FCS reports are:
| Metric | Figure |
|---|---|
| Hotel properties using FCS | 2,800+ |
| Countries | 70+ (71 as of August 2026) |
| Features in FCS1 | 35+ |
| Offices worldwide | 20 locations across Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe and the Americas |
Leadership sits in Singapore: Yoon Mun Chiew as Group CEO, Jimmy Lew heading software engineering, and Karen Bey running global sales and channels. The company's centre of gravity is Asia-Pacific, with a strong Americas presence across Las Vegas, Toronto, Mexico City and São Paulo, and local support across the regions it serves.
FCS runs in some of the most operationally complex properties in the industry: major hotel brands, luxury hotels, gaming and casino hotels, and hotel chains. Those are exactly the environments where the number of moving parts, and the cost of a dropped request, is highest.
The partner side is worth noting:

Pair those integrations with the Salto partnership announced this month and a pattern appears: FCS is deliberately wiring itself into the European stack.
FCS1 is an enterprise-grade hotel operations platform, and its reach is the point. It connects guest requests with the operational workflows behind them across housekeeping, maintenance, guest services, incidents and other hotel functions. For complex hotels and resorts, that means one operational environment from the moment a guest needs something through to fulfilment, escalation and management visibility.
It is used across the hotel: general managers, supervisors, housekeeping and engineering on the floor, while higher management, owners and hotel groups use its dashboards for analytics and reporting across their properties worldwide.

On 11 August 2026, FCS announced an integration between FCS1 and Salto Space, the smart access control platform. A room attendant opens a Cleaning Order in the FCS1 app and can unlock that specific room from the phone. Access is scoped to the assigned room and the active task only, and every entry leaves a digital record.
Karen Bey framed it as a security problem rather than a convenience one: "Master keys are one of the last analog weak points in hotel security. Our partnership with Salto closes that gap."
Winston Ng of Salto added that the partnership extends access intelligence "into one of the hospitality industry's most widely used operations workflows."
Why this matters more than a typical partnership releaseRelease periodThe release period is the number of days before arrival by which an intermediary must return the rooms of an allotment it has not sold. It marks how long the hotel has that inventory locked and when it gets it back to...: Salto is a Spanish company, headquartered in the Basque Country and deeply embedded in European hotels. An integration with Salto is one of the more credible routes into European specification lists that an operations vendor can take.
FCS's AI work follows directly from the labour numbers. If the coordination overhead, not the cleaning itself, is where hours disappear, that is where automation earns its place: interpreting what a guest is asking for and getting it to the right department without a person in the middle. FCS is applying AI to that operational layer deliberately, as an extension of the platform rather than a separate story.
FCS Solutions is an unusually complete operations platform for the hotels that need it most: large, complex properties where a request has to travel cleanly from the guest to the person who fulfils it. That depth was built over decades of working inside hotel operations, and it is the hard part to replicate.
So for a hotel group evaluating operations platforms, the useful questions are about fit. Which of my properties would run it, what does the platform cover end to end, how does support work in my region and language, and how do my owners see the reporting. Ask those on the first call. On the evidence, FCS has good answers.
