One guest is worth 18x more, but most hotels can't name them
A guest who stays once leaves about 284 euros on average. A guest who comes back ten times or more leaves around 5,000 euros. That is an 18x gap sitting inside the same hotel database, according to a Bookboost analysis of six million guest records from European mid-market properties. Read that again. Same booking engine. Same lobby. Wildly different value.
And yet, ask most hotel managers to name their top twenty repeat guests and you get a blank stare. The data exists. The recognition doesn't. That is the gap that guest experience platforms are built to close, and it is where the real revenue upside lives for independent properties.
My take: the CRM budget is no longer a guest experience line item. It is a revenue line item. Every PMS that does not surface guest lifetime value in a usable way is leaving money on the table, and every revenue manager who ignores profiles is optimizing half the picture. The good news is that the fix is boring, accessible, and already sitting in most stacks.
