Ex-Remington CEO bets on an AI-native hotel operator
A former Remington CEO is quietly building what he calls an AI-native hotel operator. It is called AI Hospitality Group and, according to Skift, the plan is to run full-service hotels with more technology and fewer managers.
The other half of the pitch is the commercial model. Instead of charging the usual fee on top-line revenue, AIHG reportedly wants a fee tied to profit growth. That is the bit I find genuinely interesting: it aligns the operator with the owner's bottom line, not with headline sales.
My read is simple. Fewer middle managers plus a profit-linked fee is exactly the kind of pressure that forces a serious tech stack, from sources to revenue and distribution. If it works, it becomes a very compelling model for owners tired of paying for growth that never reaches the P&L.
