The Chinese Golden Week has started and Spain is back near the top of the European podium. According to [Trip.com Group booking data](https://www.hosteltur.com/178875_espana-vuelve-a-conquistar-el-gran-exodo-chino-de-otono.html), Spain is the **second most demanded European destination**, only behind Italy and ahead of the United Kingdom. Barcelona and Madrid keep pulling most of the volume, but the interesting part is elsewhere: Malaga, Granada and Seville are posting **triple-digit growth**. China's outbound travel is spreading beyond the classic two-city route.

There is another shift worth noting. My read: hotels in secondary destinations have a window they did not have five years ago.

But tapas and a translated menu are not enough. These travellers book through Trip.com, Ctrip and Fliggy, pay with Alipay or WeChat Pay, and expect Chinese-language support at the front desk and on the booking engine. If your channel manager and your payment stack do not handle that, you are invisible to the segment. That is the real work behind the headline number.
