Summary: Leonardo Hotels Central Europe reorganizes its development area to absorb 28 openings in 2026 and around twenty acquisitions in 2027 with a war chest of up to 1 billion euros.

## Article

Leonardo Hotels Central Europe is moving pieces in its development team. The chain reshuffles the department to handle a pipeline that includes **28 new hotel openings in 2026** and around **20 acquisitions lined up for 2027**, according to [Hospitality Net](https://www.hospitalitynet.org/news/4134721/leonardo-hotels-realigns-development-for-the-next-phase-of-growth). The whole plan sits on an investment partnership worth between **800 million and 1,000 million euros**, which is the real headline here.

My reading: this is not about opening more doors, it is about building the internal muscle to digest that volume without losing control. More properties mean more PMS migrations, more revenue systems to integrate, more distribution contracts to renegotiate. If development grows faster than operations, the tech stack starts creaking. Reinforcing the development team now, before the wave hits, is the sensible move.

For hoteliers watching this space, Leonardo is signaling that consolidation and expansion in Central Europe still have runway. And for the travel tech vendors selling into that region, a pipeline like this translates into direct opportunities. Whoever wins those integrations will be busy for years.
