Summary: Young business travelers feel lost in booking systems designed for another era. Hotels and platforms are piling on features when what guests really need is guidance and reassurance.

## Article

[According to Skift](https://skift.com/2026/08/07/gen-z-business-travelers-are-anxious-and-brands-arent-helping/), Gen Z business travelers are navigating a maze of confusion. They're booking trips, facing unclear cancellation policies, hidden fees, and convoluted loyalty program rules. The anxiety isn't coming from a lack of choice or features. It's coming from too many options presented with too little context.

The irony is sharp: hotels and OTAs keep adding layers of technology to their platforms, AI chatbots, dynamic pricing, personalized recommendations, mobile-first interfaces. All valid improvements. Yet what these young travelers actually ask for is simpler: **clarity on what they're paying for, straightforward policy language, and someone (or something) that reassures them they're making the right choice**. When a 25-year-old revenue manager books a hotel for a conference, they don't want to decode a rate comparison tool. They want to know upfront if there's a cancellation fee, whether breakfast is included, and if the room will actually fit two people comfortably.

This is where most hotel tech stacks miss the mark. We've optimized for conversion and revenue capture. We've built engines to squeeze every dollar from dynamic pricing and ancillary revenue. But we've left the guest experience feeling transactional and opaque. The real opportunity here isn't to add more technology, it's to use the technology you already have to **make the customer journey transparent and human**. Show the full price on page one. Explain policies in plain language. Let guests know exactly what they're booking before they hit confirm. That's not a feature request. That's table stakes for keeping Gen Z business travelers coming back.
