The pattern is familiar. A revenue or guest-experience pilot shines in the hotel where someone keeps the spreadsheets tidy. Then it hits the second and third property, the PMS speaks a different dialect, the channel manager exports something else, and the model has nothing consistent to learn from. The AI is not the problem. The backbone is.

My take: this is good news dressed as a warning. The chains growing fastest in these regions have a rare advantage, they can choose the unified cloud and data layer now, before legacy sprawl calcifies. Get that right and every AI tool you plug in later multiplies across the estate instead of dying in a pilot.
